It hasn’t been long since I shared my secret with you all.
For the first time in my life, I wrote a movie script for Disney ✨
Honestly, I’m a bit overwhelmed right now. Part of me is nervous, almost scared to hit send. But here I am. Sharing this with you.
When I was younger, I would spend hours in my head, making up movies and stories. But I never really thought about writing them down. I’ve always been a little shy, and talking about what’s in my mind hasn’t been the easiest thing. But over the past 2 years, while writing on my Substack and connecting with all of you, something’s changed. You’ve made me feel seen, like it’s okay to finally share this with you. I never thought I’d get to this point, but here we are…
This script is about the anglerfish.. the one everyone was talking about recently.
I’ve created an origin story for her, packed with adventure, tension, and raw emotion.
You’ll find all the details at the end.
Just a heads-up: the rights to this script belong to meeee!
Now, grab your tea or wine, get comfortable, and dive into this with me. I’m really really excited! You guys are the first ones to see this, and it means the world to me.

A fallen Star.
It all began in the Atlantic Ocean, 3000 meters below the surface. A place where light can’t reach, the darkest and loneliest corner of the entire planet. No warmth. No feeling. No trace of love. Just silence.
But before we dive that deep, let’s swim somewhere else. Somewhere closer. Somewhere warmer. Where colors burst to life, and joy dances through sunbeams beneath the waves. Where coral whispers echo like lullabies, brushing the backs of every little fish lucky enough to taste love.
And when we speak of love, there’s one story I must share. A story of deep love and sacrifice. The story of Luz and Timo.
In the warm waters of Tenerife, beneath golden blades of sunlight slicing through the sea, lives a shy, slightly distracted, but utterly unforgettable pufferfish named Timo. When he’s nervous, he puffs up like a balloon. Classic defense mode.
Timo was raised by his mother. He never met his father. Since he was little, he’s done everything he could to care for her. Now, he’s in his final year of school, just a breath away from graduating.
His dream is to become a hydrographer, to explore the ocean and map out the places no one’s ever seen. But it’s a dream he’s ready to let go of, because his mother needs him more.
To survive, she works double shifts at the Coral Clinic. In between, she volunteers to help bring new life into the sea. The only escape Timo had from his daily routine was school. He loved oceanography class more than anything. Today’s lesson focused on the terrifying creatures of the deep, the ones that live where light never reaches, the ones that thirst for blood.
They were studying the anglerfish. A sinister, merciless predator. The scariest of them all.
None of the other students cared about this "nerdy stuff." They were too busy showing off who could swim the fastest, pull off the wildest stunts, or outrun the most sharks.
The worst of them was Jax. A muscular, flashy, cocky wahoo who ruled the reef. Loud. Fearless. Everyone adored him.
They called him Dash Jax. The name came from a rumor that he once outswam a great white shark. No one could prove it, but it didn’t matter. In the reef, Jax was a legend.
Only Timo ever challenged him. Timo had always said it was nearly impossible for a great white to be in their waters. But no one listened to the quiet kid who couldn’t even swim fast.
Today though, Jax went too far.
He hit Timo where it hurt the most. His dream.
Right in front of everyone, Jax humiliated him. Called him useless. Said he would never be anything. That he was too scared to chase his dreams. That he puffed up like a coward instead of standing up for himself.
Then came the real punch.
''If you really wanna prove your worth, go map the Abyss of the Lost Souls,'' Jax said. ''Swim through the whirlpools. Go where no fish dares. The place where they all vanish forever. The place your father vanished.''
Something cracked inside Timo. A mix of shame and fury he had never felt before. It burned in his chest like fire. He didn’t want to be like his father. He wanted to make his mother proud. To prove he was meant for more.
And just like that, he fell right into Jax’s trap.
That afternoon, in front of the entire class, Timo made a promise he couldn’t take back. He vowed to go to the most forbidden place in the entire ocean: The Abyss of the Lost Souls.
Silence. Even the bravest fish were frozen in fear. No one, no matter how bold, would ever dare go near that place. It was a name spoken only in whispers. But no one stopped him. Not a single soul.
So after school, the whole class swam in a swarm behind him, heading toward the edge of the reef.
But the abyss was guarded. No one was allowed near it. The second the patrol saw them approaching, they were chased off.
Relief washed over Timo’s body. A wave of peace that almost felt like a second chance.
Until Jax ruined it again.
His father was the head patrol guard. And Jax knew something the others didn’t. The Abyss was left unguarded for exactly five minutes during the morning shift change—at 5:55 a.m. That was their window.
Just five minutes to slip in unnoticed.
Timo felt his calm shatter into a million pieces. Fear crept through his chest like ice, pressing on every nerve. He had to force his spikes not to burst from his skin. Every part of him was screaming to run. But he showed nothing.
He had gone too far to turn back. There was only one thing left to do.
Go.
At dawn, in secret, into the darkness. Timo felt trapped, as if the decision had already been made for him. Deep inside, he clung to the faint hope that something would stop it, that somehow it would all be canceled. But turning back wasn’t an option anymore. His determination had reached a boiling point.
That night was the hardest of his life.
But he didn’t show it. Not to his mom. Instead, he wrapped her favorite seaweed in shells and served it just the way she loved it. Smiling. Calm. Like nothing was wrong.
Later, he packed his bag. Quietly. Carefully. Everything he’d need to map the forbidden zone. Tools. Charts.
He lay down, but never slept. He just stared at the ceiling of their little coral home, begging the sun to stay away. Wishing morning would never come.
He felt small. Stupid. Like a boy letting fear rule his life. Maybe he even envied Jax—brash, loud, admired by everyone. Maybe he just wanted to know what it felt like to be liked. To be more than just the good son. To be seen.
Poor boy. His heart was so tangled he couldn’t think straight. A storm was raging inside him. Doubt. Pressure. Confusion. It was all too much.
But time moved forward anyway.
And as the sun began to rise, so did the rest of his class. They gathered outside his home, buzzing with excitement.
Timo didn’t say a word.
He just swam ahead. First in line. Silent.
Behind him, Jax laughed and bragged, soaking up the attention like he always did.
They arrived at the Abyss of Lost Souls. As Jax had promised, they had the opportunity to enter and pass through the whirlpools. Timo dove in without a second thought, signaling for the others to follow.
But what he didn’t know was that the moment he passed through the gate, he was alone. The others shouted from the other side, promising to wait for him. But they weren’t the ones who needed to prove their worth. He was.
Timo swam deeper into the currents, moving with strength and determination. He felt the pull, taking him further and further. It was the first time he’d ever felt truly alive. But...
Outside, his classmates waited, convinced he couldn’t make it. They only cared about getting out before the five minutes passed and avoiding trouble. But time stretched on, and there was still no sign of Timo. The minutes slipped away.
Then came the next shift change. Jax’s father, a powerful Wahoo, was in charge of the patrol. He saw his son near the gate. Furious, he rushed toward them at full speed.
Jax froze. His confidence shattered. For the first time, the others saw him lose control. In his panic, he forgot to mention he was waiting for Timo to come out of the Abyss. The others stood up and left without a word.
Timo was left alone in the Abyss, isolated and forgotten, with no one knowing his fate.
As Timo fought against the currents, trying to stay calm and find his way back, a shadow emerged from the whirlpool. It was terrifying, unlike anything he’d ever seen. Its shape seemed to come from another world, something out of the pages of his books.
Timo tried to swim backward, but his bag got caught on the rocks, pulling him deeper into the currents. The currents carried him straight into the whirlpool.
And in that moment, he gave in.
He imagined the happiest moment of his life. The one moment that made him feel alive. He closed his eyes.
When he opened them, an intense light surrounded him. He thought he had died.
But he hadn’t. The creature that emerged from the whirlpool had saved him. It was Luz—the only anglerfish in history to see the true light beyond her own, beyond the depths of darkness.
But what’s an anglerfish doing there?
Let me tell you.
It all began in the Atlantic Ocean, 3000 meters below the surface. Where light never reaches.
What’s down there in the absolute nothingness?
I’ll tell you.
There’s a beautiful place, in the middle of nowhere, where only women live.
It’s a serene, hauntingly beautiful world that no one has ever seen—except Luz and the other anglerfish.
Until, 100 years ago, the cunning and treacherous viperfish came and destroyed everything.
They built their fortress, the most wicked palace you can imagine. Inside the corridors, they locked up emaciated anglerfish to light the way. They placed cages everywhere, trapping them to shine the light where they could catch their prey and tear them apart.
You see, while the viperfish are strong by nature, with glowing spots along their bodies, they could never see beyond their own reach. That was until they discovered the secret village of women. When they saw the soft glow emerging from their antennae, envy took root. That was when the war began.
For the last 100 years, the anglerfish have lived under the captivity of the viperfish.
There were still rebels, those who had managed to escape the traps and now lived hidden, waiting in the shadows of the deep.
To avoid detection, they conceal their long, glowing antennae with seaweed. And when the moment is right, they slip in and free their sisters.
Luz is one of these rebels, the greatest enemy of Mord, the king of the viperfish.
Her reputation spreads throughout the valley. She’s freed many women from Mord’s dungeons.
Luz is the wildest and bravest fish in the entire Atlantic Ocean.
Fate made her stubborn and a warrior from a young age.
Her mother had created a colony from the women she had freed, along with the other fighters in her team.
They had built a small village from the ashes, ready to strike back. This time, they were prepared to reclaim what was theirs.
But fate had other plans.
The viperfish were marching toward them, this time with an even larger army. This time, they didn’t just imprison. They slaughtered. They devoured everything in their path, leaving no trace of life behind... except for Luz.
Luz learned to survive against all odds, pushing herself through the current.
She rose from the chaos and destruction, creating her own utopia with the sisters she had freed.
She brought hope back into the hearts of the anglerfish, just like her mother had once done.
Though they weren’t as many as before, they had courage and hope as their guides, and this time, they would make the difference.
Luz, with her unique and glowing antenna, shone more brilliantly than all the other anglerfish. It was her trademark, a flame of light in the darkest depths of the ocean.
Her attacks were calculated and precise. She used her incredible discipline, waiting in the shadows. She could spend weeks in the dark palace, hiding her antenna with seaweed, waiting in corners untouched by the glow of the sisters imprisoned in the cages.
But one day, she saw something that made her emerge from her hiding place. That day, everything in her life would change forever.
In the darkness, she saw a figure so familiar that it stirred a sense of nostalgia in her. It was her beloved aunt, the one who had stood by her mother’s side in the battle they had planned against the viperfish.
In that moment, Luz froze. Her gaze was locked on the figure. She couldn’t hold back her antenna, and through the seaweed, her light shone. The aunt realized someone was watching her and swam toward Luz. Stunned, she recognized the small, familiar figure. It was her sister’s little daughter. Her beloved Luz!
Luz rushed into her aunt's embrace. She had admired her so much when she was young!
Her aunt couldn’t believe that Luz had survived. She stayed frozen, stunned by the sight. After the shock, she hugged her back.
Her aunt reacted quickly, and to avoid being seen by the guards, she took Luz and swam to a safer hiding place. She knew every blind spot in the palace like the back of her fins.
Luz, feeling relieved to have finally found someone else who had survived, couldn’t help but ask the questions that had been lingering in her mind.
With a voice breaking from sorrow and eyes filled with pain, she asked her aunt:
''Where have you been all these years? I thought everything was lost… that there was NO ONE… no one for me!
All these years, I’ve carried this burden inside… I wanted to tell someone! It’s my fault that we were caught. I wasn’t careful. I played outside the village and didn’t hide my antenna. It’s my fault for everything, Aunt.
I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…''
Her aunt gently touched her shoulders and spoke softly:
''Come now, don’t cry… you were just a child! I… I went far away after the attack, to the opposite side, so they wouldn’t catch me. I tried to save your mother… but it was already too late.
Anyway, what’s done is done.''
Her aunt lifted her gaze to Luz, trying to read her face before saying:
''You’ve done well. You rebuilt a new colony… just like your mother! Where is it hidden? And how has Mord not found you yet?''
Luz hadn’t said anything about the colony, and it struck her as strange that her aunt knew the palace so well. A strange instinct of fear and unease crept in. Her scales stood on end, and she knew it was time to leave. Her heart began to pound so loudly that only she could hear it. She tried to stay calm, but it was already too late. The guards of Mord had already surrounded the room her aunt had placed her in. They waited, like predators, ready to catch her.
They dragged her through the endless cold hallway, until the heavy gates swung open, revealing the grand hall. At the far end, sitting on a throne meant for tyrants, was King Mord. The throne stood as a symbol of his power, as if it carried the weight of all the souls he had crushed.
Her breath caught in her throat. There was no escape.
They seized her and threw her violently in front of Mord’s throne. Luz was something very special to the king, the greatest thorn in his side. Clearly, she had held a special place in his mind all these years. Something that would make her wish he had killed her back in that village.
As the anglerfish watched Luz, crumpled on the cold floor of the palace, broken and betrayed by her own aunt, they, too, felt the sting of betrayal from their own kind. From inside their cages, a muffled murmur echoed, low and synchronized, like a collective sigh from the depths of their souls. It wasn’t just sadness. It was the sound of hope slipping away, fading into nothingness, just like their lost antennae.
Then, the absolute darkness fell.
And in that darkness, Luz—stronger than ever—unleashed a blinding flash from her antenna. It blinded the guards in the gloom. And as that light flickered, the muffled murmur took over, swallowing the light.
The viperfish relentlessly slammed into the cages, trying to bring the light back… but Luz had already disappeared!
As she escaped from the guards, she stopped suddenly and thought. If she just hid, they would search everywhere to find her... And what if they found her hidden colony and locked up the remaining anglerfish again? She couldn’t risk that again... Hiding wasn’t the solution for her!
Then, a wild idea came to her mind, something no one had ever done before…
She would mislead the viperfish into foreign waters, making them scatter far away from the palace, so they wouldn’t have to search for her hidden village.
And so it happened…
In the abyssal darkness of the ocean, Luz let her light burst out as bright as she could. Her glow flickered like a lonely star in the depths, a whisper of light in a world that knew nothing but darkness. Across from Mord’s palace, the glow seemed small, almost insignificant, but enough to catch his attention.
Mord immediately ordered his best soldiers to capture her, to bring her back alive or dead.
And she knew it. It was exactly what she wanted.
Thus, Luz began her journey toward the light… but she didn’t know yet the new world that awaited her to be discovered!
The journey would be hard and long… she would have to go through a thousand waves to succeed, but nothing would stop her!
The viperfish were faster and stronger by nature, but they didn’t have Luz’s determination!
She led them deep into dark caves, where the darkness itself seemed to breathe. Caves that hid creatures straight out of nightmares, making even the viperfish tremble with fear!
Almost two weeks of travel had passed, and Luz’s strength was starting to fade. The remaining viperfish from the chase now approached her threateningly… She had to do something to lose them and gain the advantage.
As she led them through remote and terrifying passages, her body was far from untouched. The journey had left its marks on her... She had been wounded, and an overwhelming pressure in her head grew heavier.
Her strength was fading. Exhaustion washed over her like a wave, pulling her under. Her body sank, and her consciousness began to slip away, as though melting into the darkness that had brought her to life.
But this time… Something was different.
It wasn’t just the absolute darkness.
The water around her was changing. No longer the cold, endless blackness she had come to call home. The depth shifted into a dark, deep blue, as though something was waiting to be revealed.
In what felt like her last chance to escape, she surrendered to the current. She didn’t fight it, didn’t resist. She let the water carry her, pulling her far away.
This was how the viperfish lost her, unable to find her trace… But Luz found something completely different, something unprecedented! Her pupils constricted sharply as the light burst in front of her like a massive revelation. But this revelation was interrupted by the screams of Timo, drowning in the whirlpool!
She had to do something.
As Timo struggled to break free from the whirlpool, she plunged into it without a second thought.
With every bit of strength left in her, she lunged forward and with a powerful push of her head, sent him flying out of the current.
When Timo opened his eyes, he saw a bright light and thought he had died. But he quickly regained his senses and swam toward Luz, who had lost consciousness.
He wondered, deep in his mind, how small she was, and how eerily beautiful she looked in the deep blue waters of Tenerife. Without hesitation, he put his lessons into practice and began reviving her.
Timo used his body to slow down the force of the current and swam beside her, searching for an escape route to get them out of the Abyss of Lost Souls without being spotted by the guards outside the gate.
Luz was still in awe of the light that cut through the waters, falling like a golden veil through the currents. It felt as though she was in paradise, a paradise she had never imagined because she never knew it existed.
Timo found a shortcut to sneak them out of the Abyss without being noticed.
Luz acted like a little child opening their first Christmas gift. She couldn’t hide her joy. She was there, smiling, her eyes sparkling, wagging her tail and antenna, despite the pain. Nothing mattered more than soaking in these golden underwater sunbeams.
Then, a brilliant idea sparked in Timo's mind. He would take her to the Balcony of Stars, a magical place where the sea and sky blended as one.
A shallow, tranquil corner near the surface where the water spread out like soft silk, and fish could glide without fearing the depths. Here, the sea mirrored the sky so perfectly that you couldn’t tell where one ended and the other began.
The Balcony of Stars was a secret spot, known only to a few fish on the reef. It had been his parents' hidden paradise.
But they would have to wait for nightfall to truly enjoy it.
That day, they wandered endlessly around the reef. Luz was mesmerized by the beauty of the sun. She thought it was a giant anglerfish lighting their way. She made Timo laugh the entire time they were out.
As night began to fall, it was the perfect time to enjoy the fairy-tale view at the Balcony of Stars.
They swam to the shallows, where, for the first time, the breeze brushed Luz's back, sending a shiver of emotion through her.
The stars shone in the sky like decorations, breaking the darkness into thousands of silver glimmers. She had never seen anything so beautiful in her life.
And then, without realizing it, her eyes filled with tears. She remembered her sisters… the ones who shone in the absolute darkness, like lost stars that fell into the depths of the ocean.
Timo tried to comfort her, to make her feel better.
He said:
''Your sisters are very lucky to have you. Don’t be afraid, and don’t be sad!
I’ve never seen a braver fish than you. You saved me from the Abyss of Lost Souls… no one else would have made it out alive! But you did.''
And at that moment, something magical happened...
A star fell!
Timo continued:
''They say that if you make a wish when a star falls, the universe hears it and grants it!"
Luz closed her eyes and made her wish, pouring all the strength she had left into it, hoping it would come true.
And once again, she lost consciousness.
This time, Timo carried her all the way to his home.
His mother was waiting anxiously in their living room. When she saw him enter, she felt relieved. But when she saw the unconscious Luz, the worry returned to her heart.
He laid Luz down on his bed, and his mother made some remedies with various seaweeds, carefully placing them on Luz's wounds.
For another night, Timo didn't close his eyes. He kept going back and forth to check on Luz.
His adrenaline kept him going, and he spent hours reading everything he could find about the Viperfish in his books. In that moment, he discovered something shocking, something he had never noticed before!
Viperfish spawn in shallow waters, and because they are vulnerable, they retreat to the deep, dark waters where food is plentiful and they are safer from larger predators.
At that moment, he couldn't wait for Luz to wake up. This meant that for the first time, she would have the advantage!
The night passed, and the morning came. That day, Timo's mother took the day off from the Coral Clinic to stay home and look after Luz.
Finally, Luz regained consciousness. The remedies had done their job!
Timo was by her side the whole time. When Luz opened her eyes, he sprang up like a spring, scattering all the books and pages he had been reading the entire night.
With excitement in his voice, his breath trembling, his eyes shining as if he were holding a miracle in his hands, he spoke to her.
''Luz, Luz... I have a plan. I know how this can end.''
''I found the most hidden, the most twisted secrets of the Viperfish. You can't imagine what I discovered...''
''We can destroy them.''
''You can take back your village.''
Luz stared at him, her eyes locked on his. She was hanging on his every word, her breath caught in her chest.
She wanted to hear it.
Timo, with the same fiery enthusiasm, moved a little closer, his voice full of intensity.
''You know, the true colony of the Viperfish is just a little further down, 200 meters from here.''
''These creatures... they don't belong to your world, Luz.''
''They never did. They are born from this world!''
Luz, shocked by what she heard, felt as if she didn't want to believe it. She wondered how someone could abandon this world and come to the absolute chaos. The place where nothing exists but the endless darkness.
Who in their right mind would do such a thing?
For the first time, Luz had the upper hand in the story! Timo had already mapped out the location of the Viperfish, and they were ready to put their plan into action.
His mother couldn't, nor did she want to, argue with her son about the dangerous journey he had planned. She knew he was born to write his own version of the story. So, she packed a bag with medicines and seaweed bandages that Luz would need, and secretly tucked away Timo’s father’s compass, as a charm to watch over them!
And that afternoon, the unforgettable adventures of Luz and Timo began.
The journey was long, but their mission was colossal!
For the first time in her life, Luz wouldn’t fight alone. And for the first time in his life, Timo took the initiative to do something bigger than himself, something that could change everything!
Both of them risked their lives for an unknown future, but it was worth every risk.
Their plan was to block every possible exit from the village where the Viperfish were born and kept, so they couldn’t escape and reinforce their army down in Mord's castle.
But as they got closer to the village, they were surprised by how well-fortified it was, hidden away from all the eyes that could attract large predators!
Timo felt cornered and started to puff up… he didn’t want to disappoint Luz!
But no army could stop Luz from freeing her tribe. So, she took advantage of the difficult path they had to take before reaching the Viperfish village.
Their journey was incredibly tough. They made new friends, but also enemies!
One of their enemies was an unyielding and unbearable giant swordfish, who had set his sights on Luz, planning to make her his dessert. He had never seen a fish like her before, and was so curious to know what she tasted like.
But Luz was a born warrior. No fish and no army could scare her… and that’s when a crazy idea struck her!
She would trap the swordfish in the village of the Viperfish. His long nose could block both the entrance and the exit, preventing anyone from getting out!
This would delay and disorganize the large army.
And so it happened... She put her plan into action!
The swordfish was incredibly fast, but she was way smarter! She waved her glowing antenna at him, and he, like a whirlwind, searched for her. She hid quickly, and it drove him crazy! Luz, as always, patient, waited for the night to fall... On her journey, she made a new friend named Atolla wyvillei. She’s a glowing jellyfish that flickers her light when she desires! When they met, they immediately bonded. They agreed to trick the swordfish. Atolla would take her place and wait at the village entrance. The swordfish, so crazy with frustration, wouldn't notice the difference from afar.
And just as planned, it happened... The swordfish, with all his rage, didn’t even realize the difference and like a bull in a china shop, destroyed everything in the village! Of course, Atolla came out unscathed. And the swordfish? Well, he got stuck and trapped there!
So, Luz and Timo were ready to take the next step... to go deeper, into the most remote waters.
Where your very breath echoes loudly in the absolute nothingness. Where no one will save you. Where you’re completely exposed.
But they had each other, and no one would stop them… At least, that's what they believed!
The distance would take them at least two weeks to reach, and Luz knew this well! She had been through this before. That's why she had to take more drastic measures.
They had to enter the Abyss of the Lost Souls... Just as the currents had saved Luz before, they would send them down.
Timo felt panicked. He couldn’t go back in there again. That’s where he almost died... he couldn’t!
And that’s when Luz, with a playful voice, told him a secret:
''Oh, Timo... still don’t get it? After everything we’ve been through, it’s not about being the strongest, the fastest, or the smartest! Sometimes, all you need... is to let yourself go. Let yourself do what you know best. And then... it will lead you where you need to go, helping you achieve whatever you set your mind to.''
This small secret from Luz made Timo feel special for the first time in his life. Someone else saw his value, and that made him feel invincible.
They entered the Abyss through the secret passage they had discovered and headed deeper. At that moment, Timo had to leave his bag behind to avoid being pulled in!!
But he felt a tightness, like something was inside his bag. When he opened it, he saw his father’s compass. He put it around his neck and held it tight against his chest as they entered the abyss.
The abyss was so strong that it separated them. The current pulled Luz in a different direction... the seaweed bandages came loose from her wounds.
But she didn’t care about the physical pain. She closed her eyes and thought about the star that had fallen and the wish she made. When she opened her eyes, the current had thrown her farther from Mord’s castle.
But she was alone. She looked around, moving her antenna, but couldn’t see Timo anywhere. Her heart tightened.
Now, poor Timo was all alone for the first time in his life. No light. No signs of life around him... in the ultimate nightmare of every living being!
He was in the middle of nowhere, in an endless black hole, in the infinite darkness.
He couldn’t see where he was going. He didn’t know if he had moved or reached somewhere. He couldn’t tell if he was alive or dead. Was this what death felt like?
But then he heard a loud noise coming from his chest. It was his father’s compass! He didn’t need to see it, just feel it. He gently touched the hands of the compass and let his body relax, listening for even the slightest vibration, the faint oscillation of the needle.
That led him to Luz, who had gone crazy with worry when she lost him!
As soon as she realized he was close, she rushed to him and embraced him.
A weight lifted off her. The tension inside her dissolved, and now she could think clearly again!
The first thing Luz did was take Timo to the secret colony she had rebuilt from the ashes. But what awaited them was nightmarish. Mord, with her aunt leading, had found their hidden refuge and destroyed it. Despair gripped her like cold water, filling her lungs, pulling her deeper. There was no reason to live anymore.
Something inside her broke, something she couldn’t fix. With tears in her eyes, she turned to Timo and said: ''It was a huge mistake bringing you here... what the hell was I thinking? I always make mistakes. Always mistakes. And now, because of me, everything’s lost... And the worst part? I dragged you into this too.''
Timo tried to pull her towards him, to show her something, but she was frozen in place.
So, he shouted at her to snap out of it.
With a hopeful tone in his voice, he said: ''Stop right there and come here, look Luz… not everything is lost!!''
Luz moved closer to him and saw some of her hidden sisters who had heard her cries and emerged from their hiding places!
The warm light from their antennae reflected in Luz’s eyes as she watched them slowly come out of their hiding spots... like a miracle unfolding before her!
Luz’s eyes desperately searched for an explanation. How could they have survived the attack?
With a tremor in her voice, she asked: ''Is it really you, or am I dreaming?''
They explained everything. The viperfish had split up and were searching everywhere for them. This refuge was discovered by her aunt, but since the armies were scattered, the anglerfishes managed to win some small battles!
So, the army retreated to Mord's palace to regroup without being able to capture any other anglerfish!
Now was their chance. Now, they had to launch their attack and break into the palace! The viperfish would be surrounded with no reinforcements coming from the shallows like they had all these years!!
NOW OR NEVER.
They also had their secret weapon: Timo! He was bigger and with his armor and spines, no one could get close to them!
The battle that would change everything had begun.
Like shadows in the dark, they gathered together, their gazes burning with determination. This wouldn’t just be a battle... it would be the beginning of the end.
Mord and his army wouldn’t have a second to react.
Their antennae were covered, their light extinguished, and silently, like hunters who knew their prey, they surged toward the outer gates of the castle.
The operation was flawless. As soon as they arrived, they split into small groups, each move precise, each strike lethal. The outer guards never even knew what hit them! They fell one by one before they could even raise an alarm.
And then... Luz and Timo did the unthinkable.
They invaded the depths of the castle alone.
Two against fifty.
The corridor was full of heavily armed guards, their eyes red with vigilance. Timo and Luz had no chance, but that didn’t stop them.
Luz charged like a blazing star, every move a dance between life and death. Her fighting skills weren’t just technique; they were instinct, rhythm, destruction wrapped in grace.
And as her strikes tore through the waves, she also opened the cells.
Her imprisoned sisters were being freed, one by one.
Timo had been swept up by Luz’s irresistible charm!
And to impress her, he started making moves that didn’t look like martial arts at all. His clumsy actions were so funny that even the viperfish stopped and stared at him like fools... but their laughter was cut short. No matter how awkward Timo was, he had a way of taking down almost all the guards!
Mord’s empire was starting to crumble from within.
Now, they just needed to get into the grand hall.
Timo sat down to block the corridor to make sure no one followed her, and she continued inward!
But there, an unpleasant surprise awaited her!
She found the ten best warriors lined up, and one of them was her aunt.
Luz was already tired and wounded from the previous battles, but she wouldn’t give up. She didn’t have time to wait for Timo and reinforcements from the others, who were battling and conquering from the outside in!
This fight was hers.
Without hesitation, she surged forward, attacking with all her might… as though the sight of battle had touched her soul.
And in her mind… the image of her mother.
The woman who once charged forward with the same fire, who fought like a hero, like someone with no intention of falling, only to win.
Now, it was her turn.
The other anglerfish, still locked in their cages, began to sing to inspire her. A miracle was unfolding before them. And this miracle was called Luz.
Mord gestured to her aunt to join the battle… and to FINISH her.
Luz began to fade, feeling that divine energy draining from her.
With whatever strength she had left, she clashed with her aunt. In the midst of their fight, Timo arrived with reinforcements!
This gave her a boost, and with expert precision, she defeated her aunt and pinned her against the wall... but she couldn't bring herself to hurt her. Her heart wouldn’t allow it. She left her aunt lying on the ground and turned to walk away. But her aunt saw Luz’s wound, still bleeding, and thrust her with all her might. Luz collapsed, and time began to distort before her eyes. Everything seemed to slow down, and she felt nothing.
Her aunt looked at her with an indifferent stare and said:
''This was the last image of your mother. Neither of you was strong enough. You both made the same mistake. The same weakness.''
Now everything was blurry for Luz. From afar, she saw Timo coming at incredible speed, his spikes piercing through every enemy in his path.
She knew it was too late, but she had this feeling that everything would be okay.
BUT THIS ISN’T THE END.
It all started in the Atlantic Ocean, 3000 meters below the surface, where light never reaches.
Luz is the only anglerfish in history brave enough to see the light. She traveled non-stop for two weeks, through countless hardships, but she made it.
The beginning of the end was when she met Timo and shared all her secrets. That day was the only day that remained etched in her memory, because it was also her last… Luz left us when she saw the stars and made her wish.
Timo took her home and did everything he could to revive her, but his mother noticed something magical… Luz was pregnant and brought her children into a peaceful world of light and endless love.
Maybe this story was in Luz’s mind as she left for paradise.
Maybe this story was created by Timo to tell her children.
Maybe when you read this story again, you'll understand whose version it really is.
And there, at the Balcony of the Stars, where the sea blends with the sky, Timo left her body for us to find.
And that’s how we met little Luz, with the enormous heart, who turned a thousand thorns into steps just to come closer.
The End.
Okay, I hope you liked the story…
Now I’m going to share more about why I chose these characters, their names, the plot, and explain everything behind it.
First, I want to clear something up. Even though this is for an animated movie and it’s completely made up, I did a lot of research to make sure the details were accurate. I didn’t just pull them out of nowhere.
Since I was a kid, I’ve always been obsessed with the sea. There’s something about the unknown that pulls me in. Honestly, it fascinates me more than space ever did. And I’ve always been frustrated. Why do scientists and huge corporations spend billions every year to explore space, but we’ve barely scratched the surface of our own oceans?
When I first saw the anglerfish, it hit me in a way I didn’t expect. I had to learn more about it, and the deeper I dug, the more I realized how little we know about the oceans and the creatures living in the vast dark. It really blew my mind. And just like that, I had the perfect origin story for Luz and how she ended up in Tenerife.
Why Luz? In Spanish, it means "light," but it also represents "the hope and brightness that someone brings into the lives of others," just like Luz brought to her sisters.
The name Timo means a lot too. It’s Greek, coming from "Timotheos," which means "I honor God." As a Greek, this name carries a deep meaning for me. It also represents a character with strong moral values.
Then, there’s King Mord. In Icelandic literature, this name represents a sly, treacherous character. In German, it translates to "murder" or "homicide."
Dash Jax is a bold name. It’s like someone who strikes fast, but with a reckless side. Perfect for our Wahoo.
Why these fish species? It’s not random. These creatures really live in the waters where Luz was found. Viperfish, though they live thousands of meters below the surface, have some key differences compared to anglerfish. Viperfish give birth in shallow waters, about 200 meters down, before migrating much deeper. Between 1,000 and 3,000 meters they find food. They’re born in light to survive, then sink into darkness to rule.
Anglerfish, on the other hand, are born in complete darkness, with no concept of light. Viperfish have glowing spots along their bodies and are fast hunters. Anglerfish have glowing antennas that emit even more light, and they’re patient, waiting weeks or even months for their prey.
I loved the contrast between them, which is why I chose these species.
Why did I make the village all women? Female anglerfish are the queens of the deep. The males are tiny, without light, and exist solely for reproduction.
When a male finds a female, he bites her, attaches himself to her like a parasite, and fuses with her body. He loses his eyes and organs and stays attached to her until she needs him for reproduction.
So, in my story, I made the decision to have only women.
As for Timo, the pufferfish, I chose him because even though he’s not fast, strong, or imposing like the others, he doesn’t need to be. His difference lies in how he uses what he already has. He has to learn to respect and evolve what’s inside him to achieve more than the naturally gifted "fish" who only use their strengths without pushing beyond them.
It’s not about being the strongest, the most beautiful, or the smartest. It’s about having the WILL. Without will, you can’t achieve anything.
The Atolla wyvillei is no ordinary jellyfish. When it’s attacked, it doesn’t hide. It explodes into light, like an alarm. Its glow attracts bigger predators, hoping they’ll eat its enemy. That’s why I chose it, even though it’s rare to find at 200 meters. It usually lives deeper, but it fits perfectly into the story. It adds an element of mystery because it’s a solitary traveler, just like Luz.
What were the viperfish’ motivations against the anglerfish? They were forced to leave the light they were born in to survive. They’re easy prey for larger predators. They lived in total darkness for centuries, knowing the warmth of light. Eventually, they grew envious. When they saw the anglerfish, they didn’t see a threat, but an opportunity to take control and feel powerful.
Jax, on a smaller scale, grew up with a father who had absolute control. To him, his father was this untouchable idol. Jax never had room to prove himself. Even when he did, it was never enough to meet his standards. That’s why he tried to make the "weaker" feel worse. Not out of hatred, but because it gave him a taste of power.
Luz carries a lot of guilt. No matter how hard she tries to do her best, it never goes away. She punishes herself, even though it’s not her fault. Sadly, she keeps setting herself up for tough tests, thinking if she does the right thing, the guilt will disappear. But every time she reaches her goal, the guilt comes back even stronger, and she never gets to enjoy her victories.
Do you think she ever did?
I bet you're wondering if Luz imagined it all as she made her wish or if Timo convinced himself it was real so he could tell Luz’s children about their adventures.
Or did it really happen?
The truth is, when they met that day, they shared everything about their lives. They were two strangers who almost died, and they needed to talk. They needed to say things they couldn’t tell anyone close to them for fear of being judged.
So, I left a lot of elements in the story for you to decide which version is true.
I’ve even thought about what song I’d want to play when Luz and Timo enter the Abyss of Lost Souls and get swept away, separating them...
Song: The Weeknd, Lana Del Rey – "The Abyss"
Now, go back and read the part where they enter the abyss again, as you listen to the song. Imagine them. It’s so emotional…
What do I hope happens with this story I wrote? I want it to become an animated movie at Disney. I believe it can happen, and I’m manifesting it. If you liked what I wrote, let’s manifest it together and make my dream a reality!!
Your cute internet friend,
Eva 🫶🏼
Timo wastes too much energy proving shit to people who never mattered. Always trying to earn something he already had. The dream scared him, so he hid behind helping his mom like that made him noble. But he finally got it. Found something real. Found someone worth everything. And now he’s moving different.
Ready to fuck up the whole ocean for her.
That’s a legend.
I fucking love Timo.
